DMCA and Removal Requests
APK Mods respects the rights of app developers and publishers. If you own the rights to an app, game, icon or other content shown on our site and did not allow it to be shared here, you can ask us to remove it. This page explains how.
How to send a removal request
You can contact us in either of two ways:
- Email: send your request to
dmca@apkmods.uk. - Online form: use the DMCA report form, which links your request directly to the page in question.
One request can cover several pages of the same app or several apps from the same rights holder. Please list every link.
What your request must include
To act quickly, we need the following:
- Your full name, the company or developer you represent, and your role.
- A description of the work you own — for example the app name and its Google Play link.
- The exact link (or links) on our site where the content appears.
- Proof that you own the rights or act for the owner, such as an email from the developer address listed on Google Play, or an official document.
- Your contact details: email address and, if you wish, a phone number.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not allowed by you, your agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your request is accurate, and that you are the owner or allowed to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough).
What happens next
| Step | What we do | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Receive | We confirm we have your request | Usually within one working day |
| 2. Check | We check the links and your proof of ownership | As part of the removal time |
| 3. Remove | The listed files and pages are taken offline | Within 72 hours of a complete request |
| 4. Notify | We tell the uploader, if the file came from an account | At the time of removal |
If something is missing from your request, we will reply and ask for it. The 72-hour time starts when we have everything we need. Where an uploader keeps posting files they do not have the right to share, we may close their account.
Counter-notice
If you uploaded a file that was removed and you believe it was removed by mistake — for example because you are the developer or have permission to share it — you can send a counter-notice to dmca@apkmods.uk. Include:
- Your name, contact details and the email address of your APK Mods account.
- The link of the removed content and the date it was removed.
- A clear explanation of why you have the right to share the file, with proof where possible.
- A statement, made in good faith, that the content was removed by mistake.
- Your signature (typing your full name is enough).
We will pass the counter-notice to the person who made the original request. If they do not show that they have started legal action within a reasonable time, we may restore the content.
Good to know
- Sending a false request, or a false counter-notice, can have legal consequences. Please only send a request if you are sure.
- The rules described here follow the general notice-and-takedown approach of the US DMCA. We also respect copyright law in India, explained by the Copyright Office, Government of India.
- Developers who want to publish their own official builds instead of removing them can do so through our developer program.
- For harmful or wrongly labelled files that are not a copyright matter, please use the general report form.
