Most download sites show a big button and very little else. On APK Mods we show the facts about each file first. When a file is uploaded, our system opens it and reads the package name, version, minimum Android version, supported CPU types and the signing certificate. It also creates a SHA-256 fingerprint of the whole file. You see all of this on the download page before you tap the button.
This matters because a MOD APK is a changed file. It is not made by the original developer. Showing the signature and file hash helps you compare files, check them on VirusTotal and avoid fake copies that hide malware. You can read more about this in our MOD APK safety guide.

What you can download on APK Mods
There are three kinds of files on the site. Each app page tells you clearly which one you are getting.

Original files keep the developer’s signature. If you install one, Google Play can keep updating it as normal. MOD files are signed with a different key, so you need to come back to APK Mods for new versions. Our guide to MOD APK files explains this in more detail.
How to download from APK Mods
- Search for a game or app, or open a category such as arcade games or music apps.
- On the app page, read the app info table and the MOD info box, if there is one.
- Tap Download. The download page shows the file details. The download starts after a short check.
- Open the file on your phone and allow “Install unknown apps” when asked.

Most people in India use Android phones from Xiaomi, Samsung, Realme, Vivo and Oppo. Each brand hides the “Install unknown apps” switch in a slightly different place, so our install guide has steps for each one. Many phones also have limited storage, so every app page shows the exact file size before you download.
Popular downloads include video players, photo editors, music apps, cricket score and streaming apps, and casual games that run well on mid-range phones. If a game or app you want is missing, open its page and tap “Request this APK”, or use the request link on the app page, and uploaders will see it.
One rule matters more than any other: never type your UPI PIN, bank password or OTP into a modded app. Payment apps such as Paytm, PhonePe and Google Pay should only be installed from Google Play.
Upload your app: the APK Mods developer program
APK Mods is open to developers and modders. Create a free account, set up your developer profile and add your app in two ways:
- Import from Google Play: paste your Play Store link and we fill in the title, icon, screenshots, description and category automatically.
- Add manually: for apps that are not on Google Play, enter the details and upload your own icon and screenshots.
Then upload APK, XAPK, APKS or APKM files up to 2 GB. Uploads go straight to Cloudflare storage in small parts, so a weak connection can retry without starting again. The console shows each upload’s review status and download count. Read the full details on the developer program page.

Can developers upload their own apps to APK Mods?
Yes. Create a free account, open the developer console and either import your app from a Google Play link or add it manually. You can upload APK, XAPK, APKS or APKM files up to 2 GB. New uploads are checked before they go live.

Rights holders can send a removal request from our DMCA page or the report form on any app page. We review notices and remove infringing files quickly.
